Little Feet

By Ashlyn Weber

With the tiny steps that a child takes

Will help him slip and hide away

The giant beast nearly awakes

The baby doesn’t think he wants to play

The beast snickers and lets out a growl

When the child leaps in fear under his crib

While the monster tries to grab him with a howl

He opens his mouth and raises the child up to his rib

Instead of eating the child like his intention

He sets the child down and away he went

The boy doesn’t even think to mention

But he knew what the monster meant

Really he wasn’t a monster at all

He is an angel that wasn’t ready to fall
