By Kaelin Miller
One stormy morning I stood on my porch,
I saw a cat, who is pitifully skinny
I went in my home and brought him some meat
the cat gratefully meowed and ate
then he disappeared
The next morning, I stood on my porch,
The rain heavier than gumballs
I saw the cat again, and I brought him some meat
again, he was grateful as he ate, and meowed
then he disappeared again
hail falling from the sky
I saw the cat again, still hungry
I brought him some meat
he purred and rubbed against my leg
then he disappeared once more
every house was destroyed by a tornado
every house except mine.
but I did not see the cat this time
It’s almost like the cat was good luck
